From the Air



As you`ve probably guessed , I wouldn`t be able to resist boring you with our Shildon.net adventure team`s recent pics.
This was the 1st one I took of the burners getting us airbourn:-

I was fortunate enough after I retired from I.C.I. to work for David Bellamy & the Wildlife Trust for 6 years. He will now tell you that wind turbines are not only a waste of time ----- they are a blot on the landscape.
We old residents of Redcar are fighting tooth & nail to stop an enormous bank of these monstrocities being built within a mile of our lovely coastline.
As we peacefully sailed over the beautiful countyside this evening we came across these supercilious attempts to placate the Kyoto agreement :-

I am due to go on one of these ballon trips in October from the York. I hope the weather will be as good as you had, Ken. When did you drink the champagne? As Dutch courage before you started or as a nerve calmer after you had landed?

There was no sign of the champagne until we had packed the balloon back into it's big bag and heaved the basket back onto the trailer.I think if they had given it to us before we might not have helped with the graft.

If Ken can bore you with some photos of our daring expedition into the depths of darkest Durham then so can I.Here is one to show just how big the balloon is, the pilot was checking all was Ok before take off.
